Premium is currently offered at a founding rate for everyone who subscribes while the offer is open:

  • Annual: $55.99/year — that's $4.67 a month, 33% less than paying monthly (about 15¢ a day)
  • Monthly: $6.99/month
  • Regular pricing once the founding offer ends: $10/month or $84/year

You keep your founding rate for as long as your subscription stays active. Cancel and come back later and you'll pay whatever the current rate is at that time.

🎁 Free Trial

  • 30 days of full Premium, starting the moment you create your account
  • No credit card required
  • Your countdown shows in the header menu ("Premium Trial — N days remaining") and on the Subscription page
  • If you subscribe during the trial, you won't be charged until your 30 days are up; after that you're billed on the plan you picked
  • If you do nothing, your account converts to Free when the trial ends. Nothing is deleted.

After the trial ends

The Subscription page shows "Your Premium trial has ended" with a recap of what you did during the trial. Tap Restore Premium to pick up where you left off; billing starts right away because the trial has already been used.

💳 Payment & Billing

Payment methods

Stripe handles checkout: all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Your card details never touch BOTG's servers.

Billing cycles

  • Annual: charged once a year. Cancel any time before the renewal date and you keep Premium until the year is up.
  • Monthly: charged on the same day each month. Cancel any time and you keep Premium until the end of the month you've paid for.

Managing your subscription

Everything is on the Subscription page (tap your avatar → Subscription, or on mobile open the menu → your account section → Subscription). Members see their plan, billing cycle and next renewal date, plus:

  • Manage billing — opens the secure Stripe customer portal to update your card, view invoices or cancel
  • Switch to annual — monthly members can move to the annual rate (also handled in the Stripe portal)
  • Cancel subscription — confirms, then opens the Stripe portal to cancel at the end of the paid period
  • Keep Premium — if you've canceled but the period hasn't ended yet, this reactivates the subscription in the portal

Special-access members (1FootsBuddies) see a note that there's nothing to pay and nothing to manage.

❓ Common Questions

How does the 30-day free trial work?

When you create an account, you get all Premium features for 30 days. No credit card required. If you subscribe during the trial, you won't be charged until your 30 days are up; after that you're billed on the plan you picked. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel during the trial and you're never charged. Cancel after being billed and you keep full Premium access until the end of the period you paid for. Manage it anytime from the Subscription page through the Stripe customer portal.

What's the difference between monthly and annual?

Same features either way. Annual is $55.99 a year, which works out to $4.67 a month, 33% less than paying $6.99 monthly.

What happens to my rounds if I cancel?

Nothing. Your account, rounds, stats, buddies and history stay exactly where they are. You lose the Premium tools until you come back, not your data.

Will my price go up?

Not while your subscription stays active. The founding rate is yours for as long as you remain subscribed. If you cancel and later resubscribe, you'll pay the rate in effect at that time.

Does Premium cover my whole group?

Premium is per account. Your buddies can join your rounds and tournaments as guests without an account, and anyone who signs up gets their own 30-day trial.

Can I score rounds offline?

Yes. Scores save on your phone and sync when you're back online. Built for courses with no signal.

What are side games?

Money games that run alongside your round and settle themselves: Nassau, Skins, Wolf, Match Play, Snake, Nines, Banker, Sixes, Vegas, Bingo Bango Bongo and Train. Run several at once.

How does handicap tracking work?

Enter your Handicap Index or let BOTG calculate it from your completed rounds using the USGA formulas. It feeds NET scoring in side games and stroke allocation in tournaments, and you can watch the trend over time. BOTG does not sync with or post to GHIN.

Do I need a credit card to start my trial?

No. Start your 30-day trial without entering any payment information. You only add a card when you subscribe.

Can I switch from monthly to annual billing?

Yes. On the Subscription page, tap Switch to annual. It opens the secure Stripe billing portal where you confirm the change.

Is there a refund policy?

Membership fees are nonrefundable — see the Terms of Service. You can cancel any time and keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for, so you're never billed again for time you don't want. If something went wrong with a charge, email support@buddiesonthegreen.com and we'll look into it.

From Free (trial already used)

  1. Open the Subscription page (avatar → Subscription, or from any "Upgrade" prompt on a Premium feature)
  2. Choose Annual ($55.99/year, the default) or use the "Prefer monthly?" link for $6.99/month
  3. Tap Restore Premium and complete the secure Stripe checkout
  4. Premium is on as soon as the payment goes through; billing starts immediately because the trial has already been used

During your trial

  1. Open the Subscription page — it shows how many trial days you have left
  2. Choose your billing cycle and tap Keep Premium
  3. Complete the Stripe checkout
  4. You won't be charged until your remaining trial days end, and there's no gap in access
