WOLF
Official Instructions
🎯Objective
Wolf is a strategic 4-player game where the “Wolf” rotates each hole and must decide whether to pick a partner or go it alone against the other three players. Make smart choices to maximize your points!
Requirements
🔄Wolf Rotation
The Wolf role rotates in order. Each player is the Wolf every 4th hole:
Player A
Holes 1, 5, 9, 13, 17
Player B
Holes 2, 6, 10, 14, 18
Player C
Holes 3, 7, 11, 15
Player D
Holes 4, 8, 12, 16
The Wolf always tees off first and watches other players hit before deciding.
🤔The Wolf's Decision
After watching each player tee off, the Wolf must decide:
🤝Option 1: Pick a Partner
- • Choose one player as your partner immediately after they hit
- • You + Partner (2 players) vs. the other 2 players
- • Must decide before the next player tees off
- • Best ball (lower score) wins for each team
🐺Option 2: Lone Wolf
- • Don't pick anyone - go 1 vs. 3
- • Higher risk, higher reward
- • If you win, you earn double points
- • If you lose, you pay each opponent
🎰Option 3: Blind Wolf (Optional Rule)
- • Declare Lone Wolf before anyone tees off
- • Maximum risk, maximum reward
- • Typically earns 3x points if you win
- • Must be enabled in game settings
📊Point Scoring
| Scenario | Winner Gets | Loser Pays |
|---|---|---|
| Partner mode - Team wins | 1 point each | 1 point each |
| Lone Wolf wins (1v3) | 2 points (×3 opponents) | 2 points each |
| Lone Wolf loses (1v3) | 1 point each | 3 points total |
| Blind Wolf wins | 3 points (×3 opponents) | 3 points each |
Point value is configurable (e.g., $1 per point). Ties typically result in no points exchanged.
📝Example Hole
Setup:
Hole 5 - Chad is the Wolf (his 2nd time as Wolf)
Tee Shots:
- 1. Chad (Wolf) hits first - fairway
- 2. John hits - slice into the rough 😬
- 3. Mike hits - great shot, middle of fairway
- → Chad picks Mike as partner!
- 4. Dave hits - good shot (but too late, Chad already chose)
Result:
Chad & Mike (best ball: 4) beat John & Dave (best ball: 5)
Chad & Mike each win 1 point. John & Dave each lose 1 point.
🧠Strategy Tips
As the Wolf
- • Pick partners who hit good tee shots
- • Go Lone Wolf on easier holes or when confident
- • Watch for players having a bad day
As a Potential Partner
- • Hit a great tee shot to get picked
- • Being picked is usually good - shared points
- • If not picked, team up with remaining players
Lone Wolf Risk/Reward
- • 2x points if you win - big swing potential
- • But you're paying 3 people if you lose
- • Best on par 3s or holes you know well
Timing is Everything
- • Must pick immediately after a player hits
- • Can't wait to see everyone's shot
- • First good shot might be your best option
⚙️Optional Rules
Par 3 Doubling
All points doubled on Par 3 holes
Blind Wolf
Allow declaring Lone Wolf before any tee shots for 3x points
Handicaps (NET)
Use handicap-adjusted scores for fair play across skill levels
